Preventing, halting, and reversing the degradation of ecosystems worldwide is an important goal of our generation. The global ecosystem restoration community has accelerated efforts to stop and reverse the destruction and degradation of millions of hectares of ecosystems. Forest loss, landscape degradation and decline in ecosystems services is growing across the Caucasus and Central Asia region. Recent initiatives and policy developments demonstrate strong signs of commitment to restoring degraded landscapes.
