Cooling and Building for Urban Resilience: Local Solutions, Global Impact

This side event will bring together cities, national representatives and international partners to explore how urban cooling and resilient building strategies can address extreme heat and fire risks. Local and regional governments will present practical experiences, from pioneering cooling initiatives to advancing safer building standards, demonstrating their leadership in protecting communities and driving climate action. The session will highlight opportunities to scale city-driven solutions, strengthen links with national policies, and inform global processes such as COP30 and UNEA7.
