This side event, organised by UNECE, the Global Cities Hub, the Swiss Confederation and the Ville de Genève, will focus on the preparation of Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs) as a strategic tool for localising the 2030 Agenda. It will highlight the political and technical choices cities must make in developing VLRs, the partnerships required, and the challenges faced. The discussion will also explore how VLRs can influence national reporting and global platforms, positioning local governments as key actors in sustainable urban development.
